Youth Programs Case Coordinato

Location-Bridgeport, CT
The ideal candidate will provide case coordination services for youth involved with Family ReEntry Mentoring Programs. Develops a collaborative relationship with youth & families, volunteer mentors, schools and other youth serving community providers, including Juvenile Probation and the Juvenile Review Board. Actively participates in the Juvenile Justice Mentoring Network as well as the Mentoring NOW network; follows best practices for effective social work and mentoring services; serves as mandated reporter; conducts youth mentee intakes; meets with youth and parent to discuss program policies and goals for mentoring; conducts home and school visits in the greater Bridgeport, Norwalk & Stamford areas; responsible for volunteer recruitment including interviewing, screening and training; participates in planning and implementation of youth enrichment opportunities & group events for mentees, mentors & families.
Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Social Work, Human Service, Juvenile Justice or Family Studies. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to engage and collaborate with others. Knowledge of child development and understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for children & adolescents. Experience working with at-risk child/adolescent population for minimum of three years. Familiarity with Greater Bridgeport area resources a plus; strong written and verbal skills in English; ability to speak Spanish a plus; must be competent in all Microsoft Office Programs.
